Health Care

In a survey by the US News and World Report, “About 47 percent of the people surveyed said it was difficult or impossible to find a plan with the coverage they needed…” So something obviously needs to be done to drop the price of health care while also attempting to cover as many people as possible. This is essentially the problem that Obama’s health plan is trying to fix. This bill is now under revision in congress, being constantly debated on by republicans and democrats trying to get a plan they can all agree on. But, I believe health care needs to be fixed soon, as many people cannot afford health care costs on basic procedures and medications. A universal health care system would be difficult to implement but something should at least be tried to attempt to fix the current conditions. But, as of now things are grim for the health care bill as the election of senator Brown has slowed progression. There is hope though, as Obama sent a message of continuing debate in his State of the Union Address so the bill may be passed sometime in the future. But, this may be another failed attempt to reform the health care system.

  1. At first, I want to let you know that I’m from South Korea,
which has the universal health care system.

There are lots of people who doubtful like, it would be impossible to take
that kind of system to this country because of its size and population.
As a matter of fact, that is true that the countries who have the universal
health care system are small comparing with the U.S. e.g. U.K, France, Korea, and Japan.

However, I’m still thinking, this country is better than this situation.
I mean, the U.S. is the richest country in the world and one of the most pioneering country in the world.

Though, the critical seat in MA went to Republican party, I’m just waiting for passing the bill
    pending in congress.

  2. My opinion on health care aside, Obama is in a very tough position right now. He’s wagered way too much on passing this massive health care overhaul. It seems like the longer the health care bill is debated, the less support it gets from the public. A Republican was elected Senator in one of the bluest states in the union! And even now, the Republican leads the Democrat in Obama’s own former seat. That in mind, was it a good move for the President to push healthcare further? Only time will tell, but if he’s not careful this may become a really bad year for his cronies in Congress and his big-government agenda.
