Classy but Modern?

Modern day homes are starting to use more and more glass and windows as part of their wall.

As seen this this particular modern house, one side of the house is consists of mainly glass. Glass is becoming more of the trend for modern, fashion homes because it gives it much simpler and edgy look. I personally prefer classy country style house because it gives off more welcoming atmosphere. Also, just because it’s a classy, brick house, that doesn’t mean it can’t be fashionable. Take a look at this house for example.

This house is very beautiful isn’t it? It’s a modern style of a brick-house which is a classic style of houses. The atmosphere of this house gives off more cozy feeling because it’s what I’ve been around all my life, brick houses. Both houses are pretty in design wise, but it depends on the person whether he or she wants to live in a more fashion based house, glass house or cozy, classy brick walled houses. Which one do you prefer?

  1. Those are both nice houses, but I also prefer the familiar brick house. How can you get any privacy in a glass house like that? I’d also imagine that heating during winter would be a problem in a glass house, considering that glass doesn’t retain heat very well; and when the weather is warm and sunny, the sun would quickly overheat the house. And can you say a baseball accident waiting to happen?

  2. I like the glass house better. I used to live in one when I was in South America and no it’s not entirely made out see through walls. You do get your privacy. It’s mainly the living room and decks that have glass walls. As for the weather it was pretty nice in Bolivia and it didn’t get really cold or at least enough to put a heater on. The weather was the similar in Venezuela and Costa Rica. The glass is very strong too. One of my dad’s employees crashed into the glass door thinking it was open, with drilling equipment and there wasn’t a mark on it, ^^ just the smudge of the guys face plant. lol

    • Really? Cool. 😀 I know it’s not completely made of glass, but the one in the picture has a very large portion of the house open for plain view. 😛 That’s funny though!
