Photoshop: All the Sparkle You Will Ever Need

Okay, let’s face it, random glowing lines are out of style circa a year and a half. These days, it seems like dramatic cutouts are favoured. But, like gradient shading and splatter brushes, there’s always a use for stuff that glows and twinkles.

Collis on psd tuts gives an in depth tutorial on making the standard stylish glow lines.

Though the use of it is rather specific in the tutorial, knowing the tips and tricks he uses with blending options and the pen tool can be of future use.

For example, artist sayda on the site Deviantart uses it to spice up a simple drawing with techniques that are quick and dramatically effective.

Finally, I know that getting a nice sparkle effect can be a bit hard. Smudging, trying to draw them in, it can be a bit difficult getting that sharp look.

Thankfully there are these brushes you can use. Combine them with the above tutorials or learn how to make your own.
