Make a Good Presentation

Filed under: Uncategorized — Keynes @ 4:13 am

In these days, there are lots of people worried about doing presentation in front of the public as its importance has been emphasized in various fields such as college or business. I am, personally, supposed to be a presenter in a major class next Friday. Even though I am not familiar with doing presentation in English (actually it would be the first time to do in the States), I used to be a good presenter when I was in home campus in Korea. Thus, I would like to give you a piece of advices about that.

  • Firstly, use your own body. Many people just keep talking during the whole presentation without any gestures. It makes, however, the audiences feel boring. In addition, body gestures such as pointing fingers or arms are effective to focus on the contents of the presentation.
  • Secondly, be professional. During standing in front of the audiences, you should choose formal and complete sentences made of correct words. Moreover, although you can make jokes to let people pay attention to the presentation, do not laugh by yourself since that makes you look like unreliable and even silly.
  • Finally, prepare, prepare and prepare. There is nothing better for a skilled presentation than a lot of practices. I usually spend a time for one presentation 10 times its hour. If do this, you could be confident enough to answer any sudden questions.
