From Asteriods, to Zelda Part 4

Welcome Readers to another edition of FATZ. This week I’ll be discussing story. There isn’t much to talk about in regards to of technical terms or differences. However I want to talk about how a story can make or break a game as well as how stories effect the gameplay itself.

First off, obviously how story can affect gameplay. There are only one question that needs to be answered, how important is the story to this game? If the the answer is  “important”, then for the most part that will be the focus. Otherwise for the most part rhe focus will be on the gameplay. However that’s not to say you can’t have a story and gameplay heavy game.

One of the major aspect reviewers look for in game reviews is strong story elements. So without story elements a game might get a poor review which could in turn lead to poor sales. So, while there is a difference between strong and important, developers need to pay heed to not having a weak story even if it isn’t the main selling point of a game.

And of course developers want to not have a weak story so that people will want to play their games.

So until next time my friends, happy gaming readers!!!

This week I’m playing: White Knight Chronicles(PS3)
