3(iPodtouch) = PROFIT.

Filed under: Uncategorized — mokjay @ 10:33 pm

the ipad is scheduled to be released this saturday. Does it live up to its hype? according to many journalists who have recieved a review copy of the device, its half and half.

It does what it does extremely well, but lacks many key features of a normal netbook or computer.
It can’t run flash, so all of the internet isnt in the palm of your hands.
all the complaints in my earlier post still stand.
The jailbreak community will surely find an exploit to gain root access, and most of these lacklusters will be remidied

As far as hardware goes, it is pretty impressive, considering the fact that the graphics processor is the same as the iphone 3GS’s which can render about 28 million polygons per second, which is sigifnicantly better than many processors running the arm-cortex “SnapDragon” processor like the Nexus One or HTC HD2.

In addition to being a very succesful ipod touch, it can also pretty much replace the kindle, the nook, or the e-reader, which are devices which store books and display them through the e-ink system. a kindle is about $300, and an ipod is just a bit more with way way more features.

  1. I would be interested if it could run Flash, which would allow it to play most internet browser games. But alas it can not and so to me it’s just an over-sized iTouch.

  2. I would have to agree with jkaplan7, it just seems like an over-sized itouch, but i’m sure it will do well seeing as its an apple product and for some reason lots of people enjoy the un-user friendly apple products.
